The Unstable Transmitter is an Item in Risk of Rain 2, introduced in the Seekers of the Storm DLC.

Falling below 25% health gives the holder 75% of their maximum health as barrier while gaining Status HiddenInvincibility Hidden InvincibilityStatus HiddenInvincibilityHidden Invincibility (Buff)

    buff is active and the player is above 25% health, the player is effectively invincible. When the player receives sufficient damage to cross the threshold, the damage taken is reduced such it will leave the player with just above 25% of their health. The additional barrier granted when this effect is triggered means that the player is temporarily at effective 100% health. Modifying the incoming damage based on certain criteria to protect the player from taking lethal damage is similar to One-Shot Protection.
    • Since the player never crosses the 25% health threshold this way, other items in the LowHealth category are not triggered.
  • When an enemy is teleported away, the game prioritises locations approximately 40m in front of the player. If there are no such valid locations, then it is possible for the enemy to teleported to the side or even behind the player. If there is a wall in front of the player and a valid location behind it 40m away, then the enemy can be teleported there.

Tips[]

  • The player can choose which enemies to teleport away and which to continue engaging in combat in an attempt to divide and conquer.
    • Choosing to teleport away enemies that are near death can be a way to ensure they die after teleporting in order to extend the aura's duration. Since in most cases the enemy will be teleported in the player's vision it can be trivial for ranged survivors to keep targetting them in order to kill them.
  • Taking advantage of knowing where the enemies are most likely to be teleported, the player can choose to approach an enemy from a certain angle so that they can be teleported near other enemies in order to take advantage of any on-kill effects.

      Critical strikes always bleed enemies. Bleeding enemies now explode.

      Gain 5% critical chance. Critical Strikes bleed enemies for 240% base damage. Bleeding enemies explode on death for 400% (+400% per stack) damage, plus an additional 15% (+15% per stack) of their maximum health.
      can be very useful here due to the effect inflicting bleed on enemies.

    can refresh the cooldown of the buff, but doing so also ends the aura's duration. It is best to wait until the aura has expired before activating this equipment unless the player feels threatened enough that having "death protection" is more important than teleporting enemies away.
    • This can also be used by melee survivors who want to engage into enemies as soon as possible without any worries of teleporting them away.
