The Shaped Glass is a new item in Risk of Rain 2. When held, it doubles the player's base damage and halves their total health. This item is unique in that both its effects stack exponentially, meaning that all effects are applied on top of the effects of any other Shaped Glass the player has in their inventory. For example, if the player has 100 health and 50 damage, picking up one Shaped Glass will change those values to 50 health and 100 damage. With another, it would apply the same stat boosts and debuffs to the existing boosts and debuffs, giving the player a maximum of 25 health and 200 damage. The player can keep stacking the Shaped Glass until they reach a maximum of 127. Upon collecting their 128th glass, the player will be instantly killed due to the limits of the floating point system.

Dying while holding Shaped Glass results in a unique death animation, where the player's Survivor shatters into shards of glass. Additionally, the death message while holding Shaped Glass is unique, displaying "You have shattered into innumerable pieces."

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • Prior to the 1.0 Update, One-Shot Protection was unaffected by Shaped Glass, but now Shaped Glass removes the player's one-shot protection entirely.
    • This is because one-shot protection reduces all incoming damage to 90% of the player's maximum health, at most. However, this threshold does not change when obtaining Shaped Glass, so the maximum amount of damage that can be taken in one hit is higher than the player's reduced health.
  • Obtaining Shaped Glass does not cause your character to take damage, despite your health bar's red animation.
