For an explanation of how these behaviors are implemented read about Enemy AI. This section only applies when the character is controlled by AI. TODO

Halve your cooldowns.. BUT halve your attack speed.
Decrease skill cooldowns by 50% (+50% per stack). Decrease attack speed by 50% (+50% per stack). seems like a very strong option for Chef because its cooldown reduction and attack speed reduction cancel out for DiceDice (Primary)Throw a cleaver through enemies for 250% damage. Use again to recall the cleaver, dealing 375% damage on the return trip.
Survivor: Chef. But the negative impact of attack speed reduction also causes the end of SearSear (Secondary)Scorch nearby enemies for 600% damage. Inflicts Burn on targets. Glazed enemies take 75% extra damage.
Survivor: Chef to extend leaving the player unable to use any skills, RollRoll (Utility)Charge the rolling pin to speed forward, dealing 500%-800% damage and Stunning any enemies hit.
Survivor: Chef has a slower charge-up speed, and there is a delay before GlazeGlaze (Special)Fire globs of oil in quick succession, dealing 7x200 damage, Slowing, and Weakening enemies.
Survivor: Chef fires any projectiles.- PurityPurity
Reduce your skill cooldowns by 2 seconds. You are unlucky.
All skill cooldowns are reduced by 2 (+1 per stack) seconds. All random effects are rolled +1 (+1 per stack) times for an unfavorable outcome. is the next best option. It is risky to run, as Chef's pitiful proc coefficients on his primary and secondary already make it difficult to use proc items, and PurityPurity
Reduce your skill cooldowns by 2 seconds. You are unlucky.
All skill cooldowns are reduced by 2 (+1 per stack) seconds. All random effects are rolled +1 (+1 per stack) times for an unfavorable outcome. only makes it worse. However, the cooldown reduction may prove useful for players leaning into more aggressive and "in-your-face" builds, similar to MercenaryMercenaryThe Mercenary is a high skill melee survivor that uses his many dodges to weave in and out of combat.

Lore[]
Garret pokes at his food in the mess hall of the quiet ship, anxiously awaiting their orbital entry. The CHEF bot behind the counter hums opera poorly. It adds a cooked patty to a tall and precarious pile next to the grill, then slams a raw patty into the grill with a loud SLAP! "Even junk gets bored, huh?” Garret said, eyeing the unstable pile of meat. The CHEF bot whirs and snaps to attention, saluting Garret. Its chassis bursts open with a belch of flame. CHEF bot quickly slams the door shut again, the smell of burnt meat (and hair) fills the mess hall. "Can’t believe Kelvin keeps this thing around." Garret says testily, eyebrows singed.

Bugs[]
- Despite Chef being seen to throw 3 cleavers in his announcement trailer, Chef can only throw one cleaver at a time. This is because the recall for a cleaver is the same input as throwing one out, making it impossible to throw multiple at a time.
- Using DiceDice (Primary)Throw a cleaver through enemies for 250% damage. Use again to recall the cleaver, dealing 375% damage on the return trip.
Survivor: Chef during RollRoll (Utility)Charge the rolling pin to speed forward, dealing 500%-800% damage and Stunning any enemies hit.
Survivor: Chef causes Chef's KissChef's Kiss (Passive)Killing enemies with 2 or more skills cooks them up and drops a healing food item.
Survivor: Chef triggers for both abilities on hit enemies, even when they are not directly hit by RollRoll (Utility)Charge the rolling pin to speed forward, dealing 500%-800% damage and Stunning any enemies hit.
Survivor: Chef. This is useful for generating lots of healing food. - Using SearSear (Secondary)Scorch nearby enemies for 600% damage. Inflicts Burn on targets. Glazed enemies take 75% extra damage.

Survivor: Chef.
Trivia[]
- Chef's alternate special "Yes, Chef!" in based on his special "Second Helping" from the first game and has a similar effect.
- Chef is the only returning Survivor to be added in purchasable DLC. All other survivors are completely unique.
- This is debatable, however, as Railgunners' Mastery skin is designed closely after Sniper from the first Risk of Rain. Sniper is also present in the game as an unfinished, yet playable survivor.
