The Antler Shield is an Item in Risk of Rain 2, introduced in the Seekers of the Storm expansion.

The item gives 50% (+5% per stack) chance on being hit to reflect 10% (+10% per stack) damage back to the attacker with a 0.3 proc coefficient.

Notes[]

  • Correction: The base chance is 50% instead of 55%.
  • The item is very similar in nature to Razorwire RazorwireBgUncommonRazorwireRazorwire
Retaliate in a burst of razors on taking damage.

Getting hit causes you to explode in a burst of razors, dealing 160% damage. Hits up to 5 (+2 per stack) targets in a 25m (+10m per stack) radius
, but has a few key differences.
    • This item always only retaliates against the original attacker regardless or distance, while Razorwire sorts the targets according to distance and may not even retaliate against the original attacker.
      • This means that if the damage source is not a character, e.g., Void Fog, Antler Shield will not reflect any damage.
      • Antler Shield will never target destructible pots, therefore not risking the player getting damaged by their explosion if they take damage by another monster while near them.
      • If the player is hit by an enemy, however far away, the enemy will be hit according to the chance of proccing the item.
      • Razorwire in most cases will be more efficient since it splits damage across multiple targets and can avoid overkill.
      • One stack of Razorwire guarantees 160% reflected damage (assuming an enemy is within the required range), while the first stack of Antler Shield deals 5% damage on average.
    • It takes 10 stacks of Antler Shield to effectively double its damage, compared to just 1 stack of Razorwire. However, the latter assumes that a sufficient number of enemies are within range, which is a reasonable assumption.
  • It takes 11 stacks to have 100% chance of proccing this item, however, further stacks are also useful for increasing the reflected damage.
    • Each stack up to 11 effectively increases damage by more than 10% per stack, because it also increases the chance of proccing the item.
  • Similar to Razorwire, if this item is procced by an VengeanceUmbra, the proc coefficient will be 0.

Order details:
Let’s wrap this up, the General is not a patient man.
I’m leaving your order in the locker you specified.

I expect full payment, or I’ll hire some Grey Guilders to count the gold straight from your pocket.

Before the General hunted a bigger set for himself, this pair was …favored… in the field. Only put these under a microscope if you want trouble sleeping.

I’ve tried many hemo-scrubs but whatever makes these so sturdy also made it impossible to clean entirely. I’ve attached some nano tech (not cheap!) to the device to let it through the UES bio-scanners. The rest is up to you.
